Normina Student Edition offers design students two training modules for the most relevant European Green Deal sustainability regulations (EPR & ESPR).
Learn how Europe's sustainable product future is being shaped
The Normina Student Edition offers students exclusive access to two key knowledge modules from the Normina Learning Suite: Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR). These two EU laws form the legal basis for every product placed on the market in the European Union – and are therefore indispensable for future designers, engineers and sustainability managers.

NORMINA for Universities – the platform that educates universities and students about EU sustainability regulations.

ESPR – Course Description
In this course, you will learn about the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), a core element of the EU Green Deal that replaces the traditional “Take–Make–Dispose” model. You will explore how the ESPR increases product durability, repairability, and efficiency, and how it impacts product design, materials, and sustainability requirements across industries.
The course provides clear guidance on implementing ESPR-aligned strategies, including documentation, digital product passports, and sustainable design choices. Through practical examples, you will gain the essential knowledge needed to meet EU expectations and develop products that support a more circular and resource-efficient future.

EPR – Course Description
Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is a key instrument of the EU circular economy, requiring companies to take responsibility for the environmental impact of their products from design through end-of-life. This course explains how EPR obligations—such as reporting duties, waste management, and eco-modulated fees—encourage more sustainable product and packaging decisions.
Through practical insights and sector examples, you will learn how EPR can support both ecological and economic goals. The course gives you a clear understanding of what compliance requires and how companies can use EPR to improve sustainability performance while strengthening long-term competitiveness.
